Tom's love and knowledge of horses comes from his father's work as a trainer on the Hastings (Vancouver, BC) racetrack.  Tom's father is fondly remembered in the lower mainland horseworld, as is Buds Contessa one of his favorite and most successful racehorses.

Tom and his brother, Todd, have five horses between them.  Only one is an ex-racehorse.  His name is Romeo.  Tom watched him being born and has kept him for the last twelve years as his riding horse, although things have not always gone smoothly as the young Tom had to retrain his charge after Romeo galloped him into a tree.  It took them three years to work through things but are now happy to walk at the occassionally sedate pace through the trails and parks in the Lower Mainland.

He has been in construction since the age of 22 and has worked with Traill Industries for the past six years.  Clients enjoy his straightforward no-nonsense approach to horse management and sound knowledge of safety, feeding and farriering.  He is the foreman on sites, managing the crew in Dave's absence.

When not working or riding, he spends time with his wife and young daughter born in 2010.
